RDG 100 Rotary Drum Gripper
The rotary drum gripper uses state of the art pneumatic torque actuators to provide smooth continuous or indexed rotation. The motion controls are easily operated by hand controls that are ergonomically placed so that the operator does not have move their hands from the positioning handles to operate the controls. All pneumatic logic circuits provide a safety load interlock compensating circuit. This allows the operator to pour a full drum to empty without having to readjust the height of the barrel as it empties.

Our unique mechanical and vacuum drum gripper allows us to handle fiber, metal, and plastic barrels in higher weight ranges with no damage to the container. Symmetrical clamp design allows drums to be picked and rotated either clockwise or counterclockwise. Greater flexibility for picking the product is thus provided. This unit is also available in Stainless steel for areas requiring wash down to maintain sterility. An explosion proof models for hazardous areas is also a Hermco design. No electronics are used in these models and they are static grounded.

RDG 600 Rotary Drum Gripper
For handling metal drums in chemical applications Hermco developed this stainless steel mechanical gripper with vacuum grippers. Special Vacuum cups and wash down provisions are made for the caustic materials that can be handled with this type of unit, No damage is imparted to this barrel with a weight of 750# because mechanical and vacuum application allows less force to be exerted on the outside of the container than with a mechanical only gripper design.
