MMG750 Roll / Mandrel Gripper on Mobil Gantry
For ease of handling of heavy weights this mandrel and roll handling unit allows manipulation of heavy weights into difficult areas. A unique combination of a cantilevered arm and a heavyweight overhead rail system leaves an unobstructed work area. Several work stations can also be covered with this design. Difficult to access areas with overhanging obstructions that limit machine accessibility are easily accessed with this manipulator. Production efficiency and safety is also improved by use of this unit.

A single operator can remove and insert mandrels with combined weights up to 750#. The cantilevered mandrel clamp mechanism and powered swing away arm feature will allow an operator to extract from rolls, recore, and place in a winder. Stability and increased load capacities are added with this feature. Air brakes allow the operator to overcome the momentum of moving heavy weights with no effort. Increased speeds and less fatigue are a benefit with this accessory.. The ergonomic pivoting handles have a "Dead Man" switch to release switch that totally stop the unit when the operator releases the handle. More sophisticated units have air motor power in the X-Y plane with joy stick control. These motors provide ease of operation of heavy loads while minimizing the inertial forces of momentum with little or no strain on the operator.
